Jim
Riffe Carpenter, 67, of Montgomery, formerly of Beaumont/Sour Lake, died
Monday, May 23, 2016. He was born on September 14, 1948, in Throckmorton, to
Dorothy Condron Carpenter and John William Carpenter. Jim was a physical
therapist for a total of forty-four years having always been a Director of Physical
Therapy and Rehab Department. In 1984, after living in Rogers, Arkansas, for
ten years where he worked as Director of St. Mary’s Rogers Memorial Hospital, Jim
accepted the position as the Director of the Physical Therapy Department at St.
Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Ten years later, he transferred to Christus
Orthopedic Specialties/Beaumont Bone and Joint Institute where he worked for
the past twenty-one years.
Jim
is survived by his wife, Chry Carpenter, of Montgomery; sons, Travis Carpenter
and his wife, Rachel, of Grand Prairie and Jonathan Carpenter and his wife,
Mari, of Richmond; daughter, Amber Eaves and her husband, Wes, of Spring;
grandchildren, Audrey Carpenter, Alanna Eaves, Isabella Eaves, Dawson
Carpenter, David Carpenter, and Daphne Carpenter; sister, Diana Hayley and her
husband, Joe, of Wichita Falls; and mother, Dorothy Carpenter, of Archer City.
A
gathering of Mr. Carpenter’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with
his memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2016, at Westgate Memorial
Baptist Church, 6220 Westgate Memorial Drive, Beaumont.
Cremation
arrangements were handled by Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
