Frances
“Jeanine” Farris, 81, of Beaumont, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Harbor
Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on April 23, 1935, in Gary, Indiana, to
Dorothea Boone Didelot and Phillip Didelot, and had been a resident of Beaumont
since 1970. Frances
graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at
the age of 43, and retired after twenty years of nursing. Frances was a member
of the Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing, and the 248
Kappa Kappa Chapters.
She
is survived by her husband, George J. Farris, of Beaumont; sons, Richard
Farris, of Beaumont; James Farris and his wife, Mili, of Houston; and John
Farris and his wife, Michelle, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Mia Farris and
Mariana Farris, both of Houston; sister-in-law, Diane Farris, of Denver,
Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A
gathering of Mrs. Farris’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., with a Christian Wake at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016, at
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016, at St. Jude Thaddeus
Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 1:15
p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans
Memorial Drive, Houston.
