George
Andrew Casseb, Sr., 64, of Beaumont, died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Baptist
Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on November 1, 1951, in San
Antonio, to Constance and George Casseb, and had been a longtime resident of
the area.
George
began his extensive banking career with the Texas Department of Banking, as a
bank examiner, stationed in Beaumont. Over the next thirty years he held executive
lending and credit positions with Laredo National Bank, Bank of the West in San
Antonio, Moody National Bank in Galveston, Texas, State Bank in Beaumont, Texas,
and Texas Community Bank in The Woodlands. In 2008, George joined Community Bank
of Texas in Beaumont as its Senior Credit Officer and Senior Executive Vice
President. He was a key contributor to
the rapid growth and success of the organization.
George
is survived by his wife, Michelle Adams Casseb, of Beaumont; parents, Constance
Bertetti Casseb and George Casseb; sons, George Andrew Casseb, Jr. and Campbell
Jones Casseb; stepsons, Trey Dunmon and his wife, Lauren and Nick Wiltz; sisters,
Margaret Ann Casseb and Joann Casseb Hinchey and her husband, William;
brothers, John Bertetti Casseb, Frank James Casseb and his wife, Liliana; and
Edward Solomon Casseb and his wife, Bernadette; and numerous nieces; nephews;
great-nieces; and great-nephews.
George
is preceded in death by his niece, Francesca A. Casseb.
A
gathering of Mr. Casseb’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., with his Christian Vigil at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016, at St. Anthony Cathedral
Basilica, 700 Jefferson, Beaumont. A family committal will be at Broussard’s
Crematorium, Beaumont.
There
will be additional services for Mr. Casseb in San Antonio at a later date.
