Barbara "Bobbie" Dillon Hood

Barbara “Bobbie” Dillon Hood, of
Beaumont, Texas, died on May 8, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. She
was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Elva and Logan Dillon, on June 27, 1932.
Barbara is survived by her husband
of sixty-three years, James Hood; their children, Kathleen Haskins, of Beaumont;
Saundra Walton and her husband, Ronald, of Lumberton; and Michael Hood, of Beaumont;
six grandchildren, Jennifer Stone, of Austin, Diana Johnson, of Sour Lake,
Andrew Walton, of Chicago, Illinois,
Julie Harwell, of Lumberton, Cassandra Marble, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Miranda Hood, of Beaumont;
five great-grandchildren, Addison and Branson Langston, and Colton, Kinley, and
Kambri Harwell; and a large extended family.
Highly creative, Barbara loved
painting and sewing. Her skill with a pattern and thread resulted in gifts for
everyone she loved. Her hours on the golf course were another source of joy for
her. A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time
with family, playing board games, sharing meals, and always laughing. A woman
of strong Christian faith, she was a member of the HAMACO Sunday School class
at Trinity United Methodist Church. Barbara will be missed by everyone who
loved her.
Cremation arrangements were handled
by Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
