Lee Matthew Jones
March 3, 1956 - April 30, 2016
Lee Matthew Jones, 60, of
Beaumont, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1956,
to Mae Bouquet Jones and Gerald Desmond Jones (deceased) in Lake Charles,
Louisiana. He graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s degree
in Microbiology. His passion for science propelled him into a successful 40-year
career in the oil and gas industry.
After meeting the love of his life, Becky,
they married in 1977. After living in Lake Charles, they moved to Beaumont where
they had two daughters, Lindsay and Lori. While Lee loved to hunt and fish, his
favorite pastime was talking about his girls to anyone who would listen. His
love and pride for his daughters consumed his heart and his dialogue. Whether
he was in the kitchen, at the beach, or reading a Lee Child book, he wanted to
be surrounded by his family.
Lee is survived by his wife,
Becky Jones; daughters, Lindsay Michelle Jones and Lori Elizabeth Jones. Other
survivors include his mother, Mae Jones; sister, Donna Fontenot; brother-in-law,
Jimmy Fontenot; nieces Katy Lee Miller (Jason) and Kelly Campbell (Dayne); great-nephew
Griffin Miller, and sister-in-law, Patti Landry, all of
Lake Charles, Louisiana; other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and extended
family. Last but not least, fur companion and only son, Jack “Reacher” Jones.
Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy
Woods, Vic Gibson, Tim Sweeney, Joe Dupree, Jimmy Fontenot, and Wesley Johnson.
