Joyce Baye Granger, 87,
of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She was born on
January 31, 1929, in Groves, to Emily Marie Hebert Baye and Firmin Joseph Baye.
Joyce was a Eucharistic
Minister and a dedicated member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing,
crocheting, and gardening. Joyce loved playing
word search and Wheel of Fortune on her iPad.
Survivors include her
daughters, Karen Sue Wells, Rebecca Carroll Vickrey, and Denise
Mary Murff all of Church Point, Louisiana and Debra Ann Sims of League City;
son, Ronald James Granger and Garlon Madison Granger, both of Baton Rouge,
Louisiana; grandchildren, Johnny Lynn Vickrey; Christi Lynn Wells Holt and her
husband, Tom; Michelle Renee Gatliff and her husband, Kyle; Sarah Katherine “Katie” Granger; and Joseph
McKinney “Kinney” Granger and his wife, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Logan Ryan
Gatliff, Cason McKinney Granger, Hudson Grace Granger, Kelcie Holt, Joshua
Holt, and
Cody Harrington; sister, Elaine Hamilton of Plano; and brother, Firmin Baye and his wife,
Jaynette, of Sunrise Beach. She was preceded in
death by her parents; husband of sixty-three years, Willie Granger; and
sisters, Elma Baye Evans, Alberta Baye Tullah, Rebecca Baye, and Ethel Baye
Simon.
A gathering of Mrs.
Granger’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a
Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North
12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m.,
Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with entombment to follow at
Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
