Murrie
S. Morgan, 93, of Beaumont, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Christus Hospital
St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on December 7, 1922, in Nederland, to
Agnes Bourg Stehle and Louis Stehle, and had been a long time resident of the
area. Murrie retired as a vice president from First City National Bank,
Beaumont.
She
was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Beaumont. Murrie served as
Eucharistic Minister, money counter, active member of the Ladies Organization
and faithful participant in B.A.M. (Our fun loving seniors group.) It is
impossible to list everything Murrie did for St. Pius, but let’s just say in
response to God’s call “Whom shall I send?” Murrie was quick to respond “Here I
am Lord. I am ready to do Your Will.”
Survivors
include her brother-in-law, James Stehle and his wife, Sue, of Beaumont; two
nieces; two nephews; and a multitude of great and great-great nieces and
nephews.
Murrie
is preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband of fifty-five years,
T. G. Morgan.
A
gathering of Mrs. Morgan’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., with a Wake at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Broussard’s,
1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075
Bigner Road, Beaumont, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Beaumont. Chris Gonzales, Christopher Gonzales, Jordan Gonzales, Robert Stehle,
Robert Wells, and Kaleb Wells will serve as pallbearers. Richard Harley will
serve as an honorary pallbearer.
