Joan Spears

Joan Spears, 84, of Wildwood, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Christus Hospital - St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on March 21, 1932, in Beaumont, to Allie Bellow and Sidney Carmack Smith. She was a loving wife and mother that enjoyed  spending her time caring for her family, rafting, bird watching, being outdoors, and traveling in the R.V. Joan was formerly a professional ballerina and the unofficial mayor of Wildwood.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Spears of Wildwood; daughter, Roxann Ogden of Houston; granddaughter, Jessica Ogden of Houston; siblings, Sam H. Smith of Missouri City and Harry L. Smith and his wife, Connie, of Buna; and a large extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church, 5943 FM 3063, Village Mills, Texas. Her committal was held at Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont.
