Raymond
L. McCoy, 85, of Lumberton, passed away, Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Harbor
Hospice of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born in Gatesville, Texas, on
December 19, 1930. Raymond moved to Port Arthur with his parents in 1941 and
later to Groves. He graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1949.
Raymond served three years in the Army where he was an electronic tech on the
Nike Missile and was discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He led a very
long and diverse life. He was a builder, hunter, fisherman, artist, musician,
inventor, gardener, and in his later years restoring cars became his passion.
Survivors
include his children, David and Robin; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
His second marriage was to his high school sweetheart, Wanda Jo Hughes, in
1975.
He
is preceded in death by one son, Douglas.
A
family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
