George Edward Turner
September 25, 1926 - April 12, 2016
George Turner passed
away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the age of 89 years. He was the
beloved husband to the late Mary Theresa Fannette Turner for sixty-two years.
George was a native of San Antonio, a long time resident of Beaumont, and lived
in Crown Point, Louisiana for the past three and a half years with his niece, Millie
Dauenhauer, and her husband, Mork.
He was a veteran of the
United States Navy, having served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II for
four years on the LST 813. George was the owner of George’s Cleaning Supplies
in Beaumont for many years.
He is survived by
several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews. George was everybody’s
favorite uncle.
George is preceded in
death by his brothers, Wayne Turner, James Turner, and Lee Turner, Jr.; and
sisters, Joyce Moroney, Margaret Robicheaux, Anna Goebel, Jessie Stockton, and
Betty Romano.
A gathering of Mr.
Turner’s family and friends will be from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday,
April 17, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A graveside
service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2016, at Glenwood Cemetery, 2525
Washington Avenue, Houston.
