Larry Neal Tarkington, 73, of
Nederland, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Lake Arthur Place in Port Arthur,
TX. He was born on May 8, 1942, in
Corsicana, to Edith Neal Melton and Ollie Ray Tarkington.
Larry was a resident of the area
for many years and graduated from Evadale High School, as well as attended
Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Larry
was a retired pipefitter from Union Local 195, where he had fifty years of
service. Larry never met a stranger and
was dearly loved by all of his family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Larry
Neal Tutt and his wife, Tammy, of Lufkin; sisters, Mary Ann Johnson and her
husband, Leo, of Waco, Sandra McCutchen of Greenville; brother, Kenneth D.
Richards of Ilion, NY; sister-in-law, Betty Jean Tarkington of Silsbee;
Step-daughter, Myrna Morgan and her husband Lloyd of Port Arthur; grandchildren,
Lance Arnaud and his wife Holly of Austin, Shanna Arrighi of Port Arthur,
Kendall Tutt of Lufkin, Rachel Allen of Lufkin, Larry Tutt, Jr. and his wife
Tammy of Lufkin, and many great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
his wife, Hansel Lyday Tarkington; brother, Ray Lee Tarkington; and daughter,
Melanie Tarkington and his beloved pets Prince and Coco.
A memorial service for Mr.
Tarkington will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505
North 12th Street, Nederland. His cremation was held at Broussard’s
Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeast
Texas Humane Society, P.O. Box 1629,
Beaumont, Texas 77704.
