Murial Kelly Thibodeaux

Murial Kelly Thibodeaux, 87, of Nederland, died Friday, April 1, 2016. She was born June 20, 1928, to Clinton and Joyce McDevitt Kelly in Glenmora, Louisiana. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Raynold Thibodeaux. Together they had four children, daughter Joyce and husband Lynn Battarbee of Jewett, Texas; daughter Kathy and husband Chuck Pierce of Beaumont, Texas; son Kelly and wife Terri Thibodeaux of Georgetown, Texas; and daughter Penny Walker of Nederland, Texas. They are also survived by six grandchildren, Bob and wife Catherine Sonnier of Pasadena, Texas; Kristina and husband Simon Mott of Missouri City, Texas; Amanda Beltran of Jourdanton, Texas; Jennifer and husband Ryan Gerlich of Bryan, Texas; Mariah Walker of Beaumont; and Paige Walker of Nederland.  She was blessed with nine great-grandchildren.

As a housewife Murial loved sports, particularly the Houston Astros.  She enjoyed cooking family holiday meals and always continued to try new recipes.  Dazzling her family and friends, she learned how to use a computer at 80 years old and spent countless hours reading Facebook to stay “in-the-loop” with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Being an avid dog lover and birdwatcher, she spent numerous hours on the front porch admiring hummingbirds with her husband and dog, Sam.

A gathering of Mrs. Thibodeaux’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2016, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
