Nancy Ann Neblett Kirchmer, M.D.

Nancy Ann Kirchmer, M.D., 71, of Beaumont, died
Friday, March 25, 2016. She was born on December 12, 1944, in Houston,
Elizabeth “Betty Bob” Keeble and Duncan Neblett, Sr. Nancy graduated from the University of Texas
and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She was among the first radiologists ever to
be board certified in the specialty of pediatric radiology.
After retiring from medicine, Nancy became a
certified mediator and worked as a volunteer mediator at the Dispute Resolution
Center of Jefferson County, specializing in family law cases. For her work with the Dispute Resolution
Center, Nancy was awarded the 2008 Jefferson County Bar Association’s Liberty
Bell Award recognizing her as the outstanding non-lawyer in Southeast Texas who
made the most selfless contribution to the community to strengthen the
effectiveness of the American system of justice.
Nancy was a longtime member of the local alumni
chapter of the Tri- Delta sorority serving as its president from 2002 to 2009
and its Treasurer from 2010 to 2012. She
also served on The Symphony of Southeast Texas Board of Directors for a number
of years. Nancy admired hard work and
perseverance. She loved children and her
community, but most of all she loved her family.
Survivors include her husband, John Thomas Kirchmer
of Beaumont; sons, John Kirchmer and his wife, Monica, of Irving; and Chris
Kirchmer and his wife, Melissa, of Beaumont; brothers, Judge Duncan Neblett,
Jr. and his wife, Georgia, of Port Aransas; Rob Neblett and his wife, Lisa;
sister, Lucy Kuhn and her husband, Michael, of Houston; and grandchildren, Ann
Elise Kirchmer, Jax Kirchmer, Kate Kirchmer, Trevin Sonnier and his wife,
Dixie; great-grandchild, Adeline Sonnier.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of Dr. Kirchmer’s family and friends will
begin at 10:00 a.m., with her memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March
31, 2016, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont. Immediately following the services family and
friends are invited to gather at the Kirchmer home to celebrate Nancy’s life.
