Robert Howard Hisler, Sr., 83, of
Anahuac, passed away the morning of March 26, 2016. Dad had just celebrated his
83rd birthday, on March 18th. He was born in Pelly, to
the late Lois Gregory and George W. Hisler.
Dad had a long life with many
adventures and he loved his family. He was most known for his superior welding
and commercial fishing. Dad also loved working with horses and served in the Army.
He had many hobbies such as running trout lines, watching westerns, never
missing the evening news, and in his latter days running the roads with his
loving wife, Hilda.
Some things that will forever
spark treasured memories of our Dad are butter pecan ice cream, pecan pie,
snickers, fried fish and plain black coffee. Daddy you are forever in our
hearts. We love you and loved being loved by you.
He is survived by his loving
wife, Hilda H. Hisler; beloved sons, Robert H. Hisler, Jr. and his wife, Linda;
George W. Hisler and his wife, Anita; Randy R. Hisler; and Robert S.M. Hisler;
stepson, Robert J. Martin and his wife, Michelle; adored daughters, Yvette
Davis; Erika K. Dominy and her husband, Rusty; and Samantha L. Hisler;
stepdaughters, Carolyn B. Young and her husband, Jon and Tina E. Jones and her
husband, Carlton; treasured grandchildren, totaling twenty-three; and great-grandchildren,
totaling fifteen; brothers, Johnny Hisler and his wife, Loritta and Preston
Barker, Jr. and his wife, Faye; stepbrother, Harvey Barker; sister, Alace M Ba;
and stepsister, Joice Barker.
Dad is preceded in death by his
admired stepdad, Preston Barker, Sr.; and his loved siblings, Louise Croce, and
Billy Hisler; and three step-siblings.
A gathering of Mr. Hisler’s family
and friends will be begin at 4:00 p.m. with his funeral service at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016, at
Community Christian Fellowship Church, 442 Eagle Road, Oak Island. His graveside service will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 1,
2016, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston,
under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie.
