Carol Wilson, 59, of
Beaumont, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital,
Beaumont. She was born on April 17, 1956, in Beaumont, to Eileen Gilroy
Vanderholt and Charles Edward Vanderholt, Jr., and was a lifelong resident of
the area.
Survivors include her
sister, Cathy Vanderholt Meents and her husband, Mark, of Houston; nieces,
Rachel Meents; Lauren Meents; and Katie Mousavian and her husband, Afsheen;
nephew, Robert E. Dunbar, III and his wife, Ana; and uncles, Reverend Monsignor
James F. Vanderholt and Reverend Joseph Vanderholt, S.J. Carol is also
survived by a family of close friends who supported and loved her
unconditionally.
Carol worked for the
City of Beaumont for 20 years as a fiscal assistant where she met and made
lifelong friends. She enjoyed travel, gardening, music, and good times with
friends at Wine Styles in Beaumont. She loved her family, not the least
of which was her beloved cat, “Killer,” whose name was characteristic of
Carol’s dry wit and brilliant sense of humor.
A gathering of Carol’s
family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with her memorial service to follow
at 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her committal
will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
