Norman
“Dail” Beach, Jr., 91, of Winnie, died Sunday, March 13, 2016. He was born on
June 19, 1924, in Rocky Groves, Pennsylvania to Iva Mae Hoffman and Norman Dail
Beach.
Dail
served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an endowed and fifty
year member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 A.F. and A.M. Dail was a member of First
United Methodist Church of Winnie and a former mayor of Lakeview. He worked with
Drainage District #7, and retired from Fina Refinery after forty-two years of
service as a supervisor. Dail was also an active member of Golden Triangle
Antique Car Club.
Survivors
include his daughter, Linda Brist and her husband, Keith, of Winnie;
grandchildren, Phoebe Brist Meguess and her husband, Ricky, of Highlands; Clint
Allen Brist and his wife, Stephanie, of Poth; Jeff Mayfield and his wife,
Laurie, of Groves; Dean Mayfield and his wife, Cassie, of Sour Lake;
great-grandchildren, Afton Meguess Dickson and her husband, Robby; Lauren Meguess
and Aaron Davis; Cody Brist; Brianna Brist; Brock Lavergne; Kaleb LaVergne;
Mike Theriot; Ashton Theriot; Taylor Whalen; Desi Whalen; Justin Mayfield; Dail
Mayfield; Cameron Mayfield; Klay Mayfield; Josie Moore; and Stormy Moore; great-great-grandson,
Brooks Dickson; sister, Kate VanCleave of Victoria; and numerous nieces,
nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, Iva and Norman Beach; his loving wife of
fifty years, Lurlene Beach; daughter, Shelia Mayfield; grandson, Dewey Allen
Brist; brother, John Beach; and dear
friend, Gladys Boutte.
The
family would like to extend a special thanks to Bonita Christ for the
compassion and care she gave to Mr. Beach.
A
gathering of Mr. Beach’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m., Monday, March 14, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie. His
funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Broussard’s,
with his entombment to follow at 3:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
