Jerry "J.D." Touchstone

Jerry “J.D.” Touchstone, 91, of Nederland, died Monday, March 7, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on September 23, 1924, in Beaumont, to Ruth Edna Comstock Touchstone and Lamar Wadsworth Touchstone.

Jerry retired from Mobil Oil after thirty-seven years of service. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and he enjoyed fishing, yardwork, and playing dominoes. He will be remembered as a gentle and loving husband, father, and grandfather. 

Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Norma Touchstone of Port Arthur; sons, David Touchstone of Hemphill; Gary Touchstone and his wife, Kim, of Providence; Daryl Touchstone and his wife, Mary, of Nederland; and Bryan Touchstone of Englewood, Colorado; daughter, Kimberly White and her husband, Lloyd, of Bedford; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Helen Rainer; and brother, Gene Touchstone.

A gathering of Mr. Touchstone’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
