Ruth Lee Greer, 77, of
Port Acres, died Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born on August 12, 1938, in
Hillister, to Villa Lee Mathews Lazenby and John Henry Lazenby.
Ruth was a retired case
worker for the State of Texas and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Port
Acres.
Survivors include her
husband, Robert “Sib” Greer of Port Acres; daughter, Rhonda Sanderson (Judge
Gary Sanderson) of Taylor Landing; son-in-law, Alvin Breaux; grandchildren,
Heather Dore (Troy); Chad Whitman; Brock Cooper; Trevor Cooper (Emily); Sabrie
Breaux; Justin Sanderson (Lindsey); and Amy Guseman (Lee); great-grandchildren,
Haylee, Dylan, Hannah, Kalista, Izakk, Emilee, Ryann, Justin, Tate, Emily,
William, Elizabeth, James and John; and brothers, Kenneth Adams (Ruby) and John
Lazenby (Wilma).
She is preceded in
death by her parents; brother, Bennie Jim Lazenby; daughter, Kimberly Gaye
Breaux; and son, Robert Edwin Greer.
A gathering of Mrs. Greer’s family and friends will be from
4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9,
2016, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of
Jefferson County, Nederland. Serving as pallbearers are Chad Whitman, Brock
Cooper, Trevor Cooper, Alvin Breaux, Lee Gusman, Justin Sanderson, Izakk
Whitman, and Dylan Moore.
