Jennie Fertitta Miller

Jennie Fertitta Miller, 97, of Beaumont, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born on February 20, 1919, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Maria Antonia (Pizzitola) Fertitta and Giuseppe “Joe” Fertitta. She had a very sharp mind to the end and a loving heart. She was a cosmetologist for seventy-five years before retiring as owner and operator of Jennie’s Beauty Shop. After retiring, she continued to keep the book until recently.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Miller) Cansler; sister, Jackie (Fertitta) Dyer; and many nieces and nephews.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Miller; grandson, Barry Cansler; and sisters, Rosa Fazio and Angelina Fazio.

A rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016, with a gathering to follow until 7:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
