Carole Elizabeth “Mrs. Betty” Gambrell, 73, of Lumberton, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Village
Creek Rehab and Nursing Center, Lumberton.
She was born on February 21, 1943, to Mary Evans Hunt and Thomas Ward Barton,
Sr.
Survivors include his children,
Teresa Jones “C.J.” and her spouse, Gija Ramo, of San Antonio; Todd Gambrell
and his wife, Sharon, of Groves; Kelly Gambrell-Tesoro of Jacksonville,
Florida; Kim Pratt and her husband, Troy, of Lumberton; Thomas Jones and his
fiancée, Kathy, of Lumberton; and Eric Gambrell and his wife, Laurie, of
Groves; grandchildren, Constance Harriford and her husband, Jonathon, of
Jacksonville, Florida; Kenneth Heisner of Houston; Lindsey Pratt of Lumberton;
Rachel Gambrell Hadnot and her husband, Micah, of Woodville; Krista Gambrell of
Groves; and Jonathon Jones of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh
Harriford and Alyssa Harriford of Jacksonville, Florida; Lyric, Hayden,
Quintyn, Autumn, and Marcus, all of Woodville; and Maverick and Maddox, both of
Groves; and brother, Tom Barton, Jr., and his wife, Katherine, of Nederland.
She is preceded in death by her
parents; husband; Giles Gambrell; granddaughter, Shikira Tesoro; and brother,
Steven Neal Barton.
A gathering of family and friends
will be from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Church on
the Rock North, 8060 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont. A private service will follow. Her
committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s,
Silsbee.
