Brenda
J. Storey Cooksey, a long time resident of the Lumberton-Beaumont area, went to
be with her Heavenly Father on February 27, 2016.
Over
the span of Brenda’s life, her family and friends brought her great joy. She
loved to travel and was able to see much of America’s beauty, as well as enjoy
multiple international trips. Brenda was able to touch many lives with her
love, laughter, and generous nature. She will be greatly missed.
Brenda
is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Paul Cooksey, of Lumberton;
sons, Ryan Anthony Cooksey and his wife, Allysen and Micah Paul Cooksey and his
wife, Bridgette; grandchildren, Christopher, Savannah, Noah, and Olivia;
sisters, Linda Finkle and Dianna Stein; and nieces and nephews, Cherie Storey,
Belinda Wright, Tracie Finkle, Stacy Finkle, and Jodi Stein.
She
is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Vandevender Storey and Charles
Storey; and brother, Charles “Chuck” Storey.
A
gathering of Mrs. Cooksey’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until
7:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive,
Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at
Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County,
Nederland.
