Walter Earl Marcontell

Walter Earl Marcontell, 69, of Spurger, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016.  He was born on February 15, 1947, in Cleveland, to Pauline Swearingen Marcontell and Elmer Marcontell.  Mr. Marcontell retired as a teacher from Spurger Independent School District and worked at Mott’s Wholesale in Spurger and Mott’s Supply in Kountze.

Survivors include his father, Elmer Douglas “Sonny Man” Marcontell of Thicket; brother, Floyd Marcontell and his wife, Bonnie, of Thicket; sister, Sissie Breaux and her husband, Larry, of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Marcontell.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Felps Cemetery, Thicket.
