James "Morris" Meziere

James “Morris” Meziere, 75, of Nederland, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016. He was born on November 27, 1940, in Campti, Louisiana, to Bernice Virginia and Alton Meziere.

James retired from the Nederland Fire Department after thirty-two years. He enjoyed the outdoors, working cows, horses, and mules. James loved hunting, fishing and going to camp with his family.

Survivors include his son, James Meziere and his wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Hunter Meziere and Cade Meziere, all of Nederland; cousin, Lucy Moreau; and numerous other family members.

A gathering of Mr. Meziere’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, Nederland, with interment to follow at Forrest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
