Gloria Inez Caton
Wyche, 89, of Houston, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at The Clarewood House
Extended Care Center, Houston. She was born in Jacksonville, Texas, on April
20, 1926, to Sarah Mozelle Troutman Caton and William Cleveland Caton, and had been
a longtime resident of Beaumont.
Gloria graduated from
Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville before moving to Houston, where she
met her husband, Robert “Bob” P. Wyche, Jr. They were happily married for
sixty-three years. They were longtime members of Trinity United Methodist
Church and the John Land Couples Class. They enjoyed traveling, square dancing,
and spending as much time as possible with their grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by
their children, Anne Sexton of Missouri City and Richard Wyche of Houston;
grandchildren, William Alan Sexton and Laura Anne Sexton; niece and nephew, Kim
Caton Neurohr and William Dean Caton, both of Dallas; and great nieces and
nephews, whom she loved.
She is preceded in
death by her beloved husband, Robert; and brother, William Cleveland Caton.
Gloria’s presence will
be missed, but her memory will be forever cherished.
Mrs. Wyche’s graveside
service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Forest Lawn Memorial
Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000
McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
