Iris G. McKinzy, Sr.

Iris G. McKinzy, Sr., 79, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016.  He was born on September 16, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Myrtle Robinson McKinzy and Louis McKinzy.

Survivors include his wife, Delores McKinzy; sons, Joshua and Brittany McKinzy of Honey Island; Wade McKinzy and his wife, Sissy, of Mansfield, Louisiana; Iris McKinzy, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Silsbee; Steve McKinzy and his wife, Christy, of Liverpool; Eugene McKinzy and his wife, Nicole, of Liberty; James Wilburn and his wife, Maria, of Bangs; and Jeffery Wilburn and his wife, Elenor, of Funston, Georgia; daughter, Rita McKinzy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Angie Lee of Silsbee, and Jana Chizer of Lumberton; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  He is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Mitchell McKinzy.

A gathering of Mr. McKinzy’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.
