Floyd
“Van” West, Jr., 73, of Beaumont, died Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Michael E.
DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Houston. He was born on November 2,
1942, in Beaumont, to Ammie Jean Harrison and Floyd Van West, Sr. Van served in
the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and with the United States
Merchant Marines during the Gulf War in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He loved all of his family and his many, many
friends dearly.
Survivors
include his sister, Betty Clare of Deer Park; four nieces; three grand-nieces;
three grand-nephews; and many cousins.
He
is preceded in death by his parents.
A
gathering of Mr. West’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his
funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2016, at
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His committal will be held at
Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
