Rose Voan, 88, of Sour Lake, died
Friday, February 19, 2016, at Dowlen Oaks, Beaumont. She was born on April 20,
1927, to Maria Tufilli Gianico and Joseph Gianico, in Bristol, Pennsylvania.
Although Rose was born
in Pennsylvania, she was a Texan through and through. Sour Lake was her home
and its fine people were her friends. Whether you called her Mother, Granny
Rose, Rosie, Aunt Rose, Mrs. Rose, Rose or Friend she will surely be missed.
Everyone please rest assured, she felt your love and kindness while with us.
She was very proud of
her Italian heritage and traveled to Italy 7 times. She was a member of Our
Lady of Victory Catholic Church (where she had many friends) and spent much of
her time giving back to the church.
She lived her life with
enthusiasm. She loved to play games, and on occasions gamble as well. She made
several trips to the Casino’s and loved playing Bingo at her last residence,
Brookdale. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, and embroidery.
Rose was named “Citizen
of The Year” at the Old Timers day Celebration in Sour Lake.
As her family, we would
like to express our deep appreciation for all the kindness and joy that you
brought into her life. She was very special and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her children, Maria
Snyder of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Louise Bail of Chicago, Illinois; Charlene Keen
of Jasper; and Robert Voan of Beaumont; six grandchildren Brandee, Tobi, Bryan,
Mike, Rodney, and Lindsey ; twelve great-grandchildren Chloe, Donovan, Camden,
Thatcher, Griffin, Cameron, Gavin, Kendal, Tyson, Maelin, Cooper, and Karsen;
and sister, Mary Angelo of Burlington, New Jersey.
She is preceded in death by one sister,
Ange Ricigliano and brother, Samual Janico.
A

p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive,
Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s
Crematorium. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February
26, 2016, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 225 West Barkley, Sour Lake.
