Samuel E. “Sam” Ford, 84, of Boerne, TX
passed away Friday, February 12, 2016.
Sam was born on October 10, 1931, to
Thelma and Clifton Ford. He had one older sister, Nancy. Sam attended Texas
A& I University.
He was a cowboy at heart and worked on
several ranches in South Texas while growing up. Sam’s love of the outdoors
throughout his life time allowed him to spend many wonderful years on his
ranches, camps, and bird hunts where he and Marcy loved to entertain their
family, friends and customers. There was always lots of food, beer, and
laughter.
Sam was the owner of S.E. Ford Equipment
Company and President of American Industrial Painters Inc. As a business man for forty-five years, he
had various interests. He served as President of the West Jefferson County
Municipal Water District, was a member of the Independent Cattleman’s
Association and also served on the board of Directors of First National Bank of
Port Neches and Texas Bank of Beaumont.
Sam is survived by his wife of
fifty-eight years, Marcia “Marcy” Ford; three daughters, Leslie Ford; Lisa Ford
Dishman and her husband, Bill; Lee Ann Braley and her husband, Tom; three
grandchildren, Erin Dishman Silva and her husband, Al; Ford Dishman; and Sam
Braley; three great-grandchildren, Stella, Adam, and Sam Silva; and several
nieces and a nephews.
Our father will be missed by so many. If
you have time today, please pet your dog and have a beer in his memory. He
would have liked that.
A memorial service will be held at St.
Helena’s Episcopal Church, 410 North Main, Boerne, Texas, on Saturday, February
20, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
