Moises Torres Rubio, Sr.

Moises Torres Rubio, Sr., 80, of Winnie, died Monday, February 15, 2016. He was born on February 21, 1935, in Nixon, to Mersedes Torres and Juan Rubio.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Rubio, of Winnie; daughter, Christine Read and her husband, Mark, of Winnie; son, Moises Rubio, Jr. and his wife, Alisha, of Fannett; grandchildren, Courtney Scully and her husband, Joshua, of Pearland; Brooke Varnum and her fiancé, Tyler McDonald, of Mont Belvieu; Sammy Simon, Lane Simon, and Chase Simon, all of Winnie; Stevie Simon and his wife, Brandy, of Iowa, Louisiana; Jada Mahon and her husband, Colton, of Hamshire; Reece Rubio of Fannett; four great-grandchildren; and sister Aurora Cole and her husband, Glen, of Vidor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Consuelo Jiminez.

A funeral service for Mr. Rubio will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, Winnie.
