Mary Janet Wells, 79,
of Groves died Saturday, February 6, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of
the area, she was born on May 24, 1936, in Port Arthur, to Ethel Francis Cox
Wells and William Smith Wells.
Mary retired as a
telephone operator from AT&T. She had a beautiful spirit, as was evident by
her great love of animals.
She was preceded in
death by her parents and her brother, Walter J. Eastburn and her beloved dog, Buddy
and cat, Kara. Survivors include her sister Jo Anne Richardson and her husband,
Jim, of Nederland; nephew Gary Richardson and his wife Kathy, of Hemphill;
nieces, Glenda Davis of Nacogdoches and Ginny Parker and her husband Steve of
Nederland; great nephews, Brock Richardson and wife Racheal, Colby Davis, and
Seth Parker; great nieces, Megan Ewing and husband Ranger, and Jessi Farmer and
husband Dylan; great-great nieces Claire and Evelyn Ewing and great-great
nephews Ayden and Asher Richardson as well as a host of friends who knew and loved
her.
A private family
committal for Ms. Wells was held at Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont, under
the direction of Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
