November 21, 1929 - January 17, 2016
Mozelle Womack Plaisance, passed
away Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Pelican Bay Assisted Living Center from
complications of Alzheimer’s with Lewy Body Dementia. She was born on November
21, 1929, in Beaumont, to Ruth O’Quinn Womack and Will T. Womack, Jr. The
picture above is Mozelle at 75 and she was just as beautiful on the inside as
all who knew her can attest to.
Mozelle is survived by her sister,
Elodie Womack Picou and her husband, Tony; children, Charlotte Plaisance
Fontenot and her husband, Jimmy, of Beaumont; Cheryl Plaisance, of Broussard,
Louisiana; Edmond Plaisance and his wife, Lynn Bertrand, of
Morgan City, Louisiana; and Susie Plaisance McDermand and her husband, Wayne,
of Beaumont; and grandchildren, Sabrina Plaisance Sia and her husband, Dan, of
Las Vegas, Nevada; Jerome Plaisance, and his sons, Jaxon and Jaden
of Morgan City, Louisiana; and Amanda McDermand and Casey McDermand, of San
Antonio.
Mozelle is preceded in death by
the love of her life of fifty-four years, Carl Plaisance, founder of Suburban
TV and Les Enfants Art Gallery in Beaumont, and Townhouse Gallery in New
Orleans, Louisiana; her second husband, John Kanon, of Friendswood; and parents,
Ruth and Will T. Womack, Jr.
A gathering of Mrs. Plaisance’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24,
2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private Memorial Mass
will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were handled by
Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
The family would like to thank
the entire staff at Pelican Bay Assisted Living Center, Synergy Home Care, and
Harbor Hospice caregivers that treated their beautiful mother with grace,
dignity and respect.
