Ovey
Ray Godeaux, 65, of China, died Monday, January 11, 2016. He was born on
January 7, 1951, in Sour Lake, to Yvonne Marie Janis and Ophey Godeaux.
Ray is survived by his mother, Yvonne Godeaux of China; son, Aaron Godeaux of
China; grandchildren, Corbin Godeaux and Chloe Godeaux; sisters, Elvina Rougeau
and her husband, Larry, of Beaumont, and Theresa Faye Harrington and her
husband, Allen, of League City; and brother, Oris Lee Godeaux and his wife,
Trudy, of Nome.
He
is preceded in death by his father, Ophey Godeaux.
A
Rosary for Mr. Godeaux will be recited at 5:00 p.m., with a gathering to
follow, Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive,
Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.,
Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 Highway
90, China, with interment to follow at China Cemetery.
The
family wishes to thank family and friends for all their support and prayers
during Ray’s illness, and also a special appreciation to his caregivers,
Margaret Cartwright of Heart to Heart Hospice, and special friends, Judene
Jannise and Chelsea Eaves.
