R. M. “Bob” Hayes, Jr.,
93, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, in his home. He was born on
October 15, 1922, to Alice Eugenia Butler Hayes and Robert Monlin Hayes, Sr.,
in Houston, Texas.
Bob is survived by his
son, Howard Hayes and his wife, Johanna, of Beaumont; daughter, Ann Hayes of
Vidor; sister, Betty Lou Stokes of Houston; eleven grandchildren; nineteen
great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death
by his wife, Mary Evelyn Hayes; and daughters, Mary Carol Parish and Julia
Kathleen Owens.
A gathering of Mr.
Hayes’ family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday,
January 9, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral
service will be 12:00 p.m., Sunday, January, 10, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his
interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Beaumont Community Players, P.O. Box
21743, Beaumont, Texas 77720; Harmony Exporters, in care of Wayne Wise, 8115
Phelan Blvd., Beaumont, Texas 77706; or to the family, which will be used
towards funeral expenses.
