Alver "Don" Hawkins, Jr.

Alver “Don” Hawkins, 77, of Beaumont, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born on March 16, 1938. Don was a retired pipefitter with Local 195 for forty plus years.

He is survived by his wife, fifty-nine years, Barbara Hawkins; son, Jerry Wayne Hawkins; and daughter, Debbie Ann Giltner and her husband, Mark, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Barbara Nichole Trahan and her husband, Blake and Mark Douglas Hawkins; great-granddaughter, Addison Belle Trahan; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Don is preceded in death by his son, Alver “Donnie” Hawkins III; and parents, Ruth and S. G. Richardson.

A gathering of Mr. Hawkins’ family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
