James Montondon

James Montondon, 88, of Bridge
City, died Friday, January 1, 2016. He was born on August 18, 1927, in Port
Arthur, to Mary Alice Breaux Montondon and Clarence Joseph Montondon and was a
lifelong resident of the area.
James enjoyed duck hunting,
sailing, and was an avid reader. He was a member of The Port Arthur Yacht Club
on Pleasure Island and he spent many days sailing Sabine Lake. He retired from the
Local 610 Carpenters Union after fifty years of service. He will be remembered
as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a man who had a
tremendous joy for life.
Survivors include his wife of
sixty-four years, Dolores Montondon, of Bridge City; son, Dallas Montondon and
his wife, Andrea, of Bridge City; daughters, Adrienne Montondon Skiles and her
husband, Tommy, of Tiki Island and Suzanne Montondon of Beaumont;
grandchildren, Jason Montondon, Leigh Ann Montondon, Keene Wilson, Parke
Wilson, Boone Howard, Lauren Hill, and Brooke Hill; great-grandchildren,
Gabriel and Madilyn Castillo and Ava Montondon; and brother, Rusty Montondon
and his wife, Nancy, of Port Arthur.
He is preceded in death by his
parents; son, Travis Montondon; and his brother, Reverend Monsignor Walter
Montondon.
A gathering of Mr. Montondon’s
family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow
at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port
Neches.
