Rosalie Lupo Dartez,
85, of Winnie, died Saturday, December 26, 2015. She was born on April 8, 1930,
in Opelousas, Louisiana, to Dora Maranto and Charles Vincent Lupo.
Rosalie moved to Port
Arthur after she turned one. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in
January of 1949, from the last mid-term graduating class. That same year, she
married and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Rosalie worked at W.T. Grant and
Company in Port Arthur and in St. Paul, Minnesota for several years. In 1959,
she went to work at Texaco Case and Package, where she met her husband, J.C.
Dartez. The family moved to Winnie in 1964 where Rosalie volunteered at the
Medical Center of Winnie serving for almost sixteen years in various positions.
From President to head of the gift shop, she loved doing crafts and made
hundreds of flower arrangements and wreaths for employees and patients.
Rosalie loved to cook
Italian and Cajun dishes for her loving children and grandchildren and her love
for bingo and casinos was well known. She spent many hours in the garden and
flower beds when she wasn’t traveling the United States and over fifteen
foreign countries with Dr. H.J. Cothern and his wonderful travel club.
Survivors include her
daughters, Claudia Marie Koons and her husband, Kip, of Willis and Colleen Kay
Fontenot and her husband, Charles, of Winnie; son, Charles “Chuck” William
Posterick and his wife, Marleen, of
Spring; grandchildren, Courtney Golden and her husband, J.B.; Brook Morgan and
her husband, Casey; Lindsey Fontenot; Emily Fontenot; Amanda Posterick; Kailey
Posterick; and Brendan Posterick; and great-grandchildren, Marley Morgan and
Mason Golden.
She is preceded in
death by her parents; husband, J.C. Dartez; and brother, J.C. Lupo.
A Rosary for Mrs.
Dartez, will be recited at 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of her family and
friends to follow until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at
Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015, at St. Louis Catholic
Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with interment to follow at Fairview
Cemetery, Winnie.
