Norma
Jean Bundick, 62, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Memorial
Hermann Baptist Hospital in Houston. She
was born on August 26, 1953, to Sybil Weatherford Hadaway and Curtis Hadaway,
in Port Arthur.
Survivors
include her husband of forty-three years, Hermie Bundick; children, Jason
Bundick and his wife, Monica, of Beaumont; Leah Droddy and her husband, Robert,
of New Braunfels; Sara Woodside and her husband, Kory, of Beaumont; sister,
LaNell Clark and her husband, David, of Clear Lake and Dolly Broadus and her
husband, Bill, of Waller; grandchildren, Gabriel, Skylar, Brayden, Landon,
Austin, Raegan, and Trey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other loving
family.
She
is preceded in death by her parents.
Norma
suffered from a long term illness, but while the illness may have consumed her
it did not define her. She loved big. While just 16 years old, she met and
loved a young boy named Hermie for the rest of their lives together, sunshine
or rain, good times or bad. She was her mother’s caregiver for six years while
still being a wife to Hermie and mother to Jason, Leah, and Sara. Relationships
mattered to her and she was very deliberate about building them with her
family, especially her children, their spouses, and grandchildren.
When
she wedded Hermie, she chose to be a part of his family. She was a daughter to
Shelby and Delores Bundick, a sister to Jeffery and Lydia Bundick, Jada and
Mike Kamp, Karen and Keith Glidden, and Darlene Bundick.
She
loved her two sisters, LaNell and Dolly, and enjoyed spending time with them
especially on their sister trips.
She
was Aunt Norma to all her nieces and nephews from both sides of the family, and
she loved them dearly.
Norma
loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. While service at Amelia Baptist
Church, she was very active with the youth and was known as “Mom” to the entire
youth group. She was genuine and very approachable to everyone and many sought
her wise and healing cousel.
Her
warmth, humor, and presence will be greatly missed.
A
gathering of Mrs. Bundick’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until
7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major
Drive, Beaumont. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December
31, 2015, at Westgate Memorial Baptist Church, 6220 Westgate Drive, Beaumont,
with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
