Veronica
Hairgrove, 88, of Beaumont, entered
into eternal life on December 22, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, with her family by
her side. She was born on December 9, 1927, in
Burlington, Vermont, to Alberta Ursla Jacobs Barlow and Lewis Eli Barlow.
Veronica lived in the New England
states with her parents until the age of eighteen. She met and married Marion
Hairgrove, a United States Navy submarine radio operator, at a USO dance in Moosup,
Connecticut during World War II, and were married a month after they met
on July 6, 1946. They moved to Timpson, Texas and raised seven children.
Veronica
is survived by her children, Brian Hairgrove, of Pasadena; Stanley Hairgrove,
of Timpson; Alan Hairgrove, of Timpson; Sherry Hairgrove - Gallier, of Timpson;
Brett Hairgrove, of Vidor; Janis Hairgrove, of Beaumont; and Randy Hairgrove
and his wife, Sunny, of Sante Fe, Texas; eight grandchildren; eleven
great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Rita French of, North Kingstown,
Rhode Island.
She
is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion Hairgrove; brothers, Walter
Barlow, Donald Barlow, and Robert Barlow; and best friend of sixty-seven years,
Jean Spooner.
A
Rosary for Mrs. Hairgrove will be recited at 10:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian
Burial at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015, at St. Anne Catholic Church,
2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont. Her
interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
