Hilda
Janelle Hargrove, 90, of Beaumont, died Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was
born on September 4, 1925, in Cushing, Texas, to Maudie May Needham Gatlin and
Wilburn A. “Monk” Gatlin and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Hilda taught
grades 1 – 3 with Beaumont Independent School District, and retired after
twenty-three years of employment.
She
is survived by her children, James Byrl Hargrove, Jr. and Janelle Frazier, both
of Beaumont; and five grandchildren.
Hilda
is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred A. Williams; brothers,
Weldon A. Gatlin and James Ray Gatlin.
A
gathering of Ms. Hargrove’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until
5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2015, at Forest
Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
