Rita Rugg

Rita Rugg, 88, of Sour Lake, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on April 3, 1927, to Marguerite Brandt and Ralph W. Glasgow, in Florida. Rita enjoyed reading, working in her yard, doing crossword puzzles, and was the sweetest woman you would ever meet.

Survivors include her son, John Thomas Rugg III and his wife, Darlene, of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Jessica Rugg, Kacy Rugg, and John Thomas Rugg IV; great-grandchildren, Rowan Reyes and Ava Rugg; and one brother, Marlin Glasgow of Springhill, Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Thomas Rugg, Jr.; brothers, Edwin Glasgow and Charles Glasgow; and sister, Jean Edwards.

A gathering of Mrs. Rugg’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont.
