Richard
“Dick” Everett Munro, 91, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, December 08, 2015. He was born on March 10, 1924, in Beaumont,
to Mary LaPorte McFarlane and William Harvey Munro.
Dick
was a United States Army Veteran having served in WWII. He attended Lamar
University, Stanford University, and Texas A&M University, but went on to
graduate from The University of Texas. Dick was a second generation owner of
Munro’s cleaners and also co-founded Gulf Coast Recycling.
Dick
is survived by his sons, Bill Munro and his wife, Kelly, of Beaumont; and Tom
Munro and his wife, Julie, of Beaumont; daughter, Mary Munro and her fiancé,
Jarrell Vivrett, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Josh Munro, Lauren Munro, Jeff
Munro, Wendy Little, and Brent Bohler; great-grandchildren, James Bohler, Kyle
Bohler, Megan Bohler, and Paige Little; and great-great-grandchild, Kayleigh
Teel.
He
is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine “Katy” Brownrigg Munro; and infant
son, Richard Everett Munro, Jr.
A
memorial service for Mr. Munro will be 11:00 a.m., with his ennichement to follow
in the St. Mark’s Columbarium, Friday, December 11, 2015, at St. Mark's
Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue,
Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue,
Beaumont. A reception will follow in The Cloister. His cremation was held at
Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
