Martha LaVonne Jenkins Olson Leverett

Martha
LaVonne Jenkins Olson Leverett, 95, of Beaumont, died Monday, November 23, 2015,
in Beaumont. She was born on March 13, 1920, in Alpena, Arkansas, to Maude and
Matt Jenkins, and had been a longtime resident of Orange, Beaumont, and Port
Arthur areas. Martha was a retired LVN. She owned her own beauty shop in
Pennsylvania and Texas.
Martha
was a loving, caring, and wonderful person. Everyone loved her.
Martha
was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, Magna
Carta, Garden Club, Daughters of the Nile, Women’s Auxiliary of Grotto, Knights
Templar, and other Masonic and Shriner organizations.
She
is survived by her daughter, Beverly Olson Stewart; and two nieces.
Martha
is preceded in death by her brothers; sisters; parents; and two husbands,
Herbert Olson and Howard Leverett.
A
gathering of Mrs. Leverett’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with
her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2015, at Broussard’s,
1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Orange Forest
Lawn, West Orange.
