George
Earl Going, 83, of Nome, died Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Harbor Hospice,
Beaumont. He was born on June 17, 1932, in Houston, to Mildred Schroeder Going
and Bo Going, and had been a longtime resident of Nome. George was a retired
Staff Sergeant with the United States Army.
He
is survived by his children, Larry Gene Going and his wife, Brenda, of San
Antonio; Dwayne Going and his wife, Tina, of Nome; and Tracey Stewart and her husband,
Scott, of Sour Lake; brother, Raymond Going, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Justin
Goodall, of Dayton; Nick Going, of Kansas; Megan Hedgepeth and her husband,
David, of Pasadena; Zack Going, of Kansas; and Ethan Whitaker and Hannah Whitaker, both of
Sour Lake; and three great-grandchildren, Paxton Goodall, of Dayton, Whitney
Going, of Kansas, and Rowan Cody, of Pasadena.
George
is preceded in death by his wife, Dealva Going; parents; stepmother, Elvie
Going; and brother, Phillip Going.
Our
family would like to thank the staff at Harbor Hospice for their loving care
during our father’s final days.
A
gathering of Mr. Going’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive,
Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2015,
at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.
In
