Franklin
Dee Richards, 82, of Nome, died Friday, November 20, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont.
He was born on March 3, 1933, in Cushing, to Velma Rogers Richards and Milburn
P. Richards, and had been a longtime resident of Nome. Franklin was a United
States Army veteran having served his country for twelve years. He retired as
an electrician from Newton Company, Local #479, Beaumont.
Franklin
is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lydia Richards; sons, Harry
Richards and Bobby Richards and his wife, Debbie, of Sour Lake; daughters,
Cindy Flores, of Nome; Jeannie Svoboda and her husband, Jerry, of Splendora;
and Debra Richards, of Beaumont; brothers, Bruce Richards and his wife, Joy, of
Cushing and Mike Richards and his wife, Debra, of Hitchcock; sister, Norma
Penny and her husband, Charles of Big Sandy; grandchildren, Jessica, Clint,
Ginny, McKenzie, Julie, and Jerry; great-grandchildren, David, Natalie, Zoe,
Jayden, Kyler, and Justin; and sister-in-law, Ann Richards.
He
is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Minnie Francis; brothers, Roger
Richards and Keifer Richards.
A
gathering of Mr. Richards’ family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m., Monday, November 23, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at
Broussard’s, with his graveside service at 3:00 p.m., at Cushing City Cemetery,
Cushing.
