Mary Anna Lyda, 80, of Nederland,
died Sunday, November 8, 2015. She was born on January 8, 1935, in
Indianapolis, Indiana, to Clementine Dolores Lynch Nix and Luther Baxter Nix.
Mary enjoyed working in her
garden, traveling, and dining out. She will be remembered for her love of
children and her cooking. Mary enjoyed puzzles. She belonged to Woodmen of the
World Society.
Survivors include her husband of
forty-three years, Jeff Lyda, of Nederland; sons, Burt Ogden and his wife,
Mary, of Conway, Arkansas and James Ogden, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of
Vilonia, Arkansas; daughters, Benita Burge and her husband, Bill, of Cooper;
Carolyn Milner and her husband, George, of Jesup, Georgia; and Marie Ogden of
Brookeland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Faith McGee
of California and Sarah Barozzini of Michigan.
She is preceded in death by her
parents; sons, Larry and Luther Ogden; one sister; and five brothers.
Mrs. Lyda’s cremation
arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the
direction of Broussard’s, 505 north 12th Street, Nederland.
