Charles
H. Calmia, Jr., 90, of Beaumont, died Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Christus
Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A
native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born on October 8, 1925, to
Vivian Box Calmia and Charles H. Calmia, Sr. Charlie was a United States Navy
veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was
employed with the United States Postal Service retiring after thirty-seven
years of employment.
Charlie
is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Annie Ruth Calmia; children, Nancy
Brannon and her husband, Kenneth, of Southport, North Carolina and Gary Calmia
and his wife, Kathy, of Irving; grandchildren, Christopher Brannon and his
wife, Monique, of East Aurora, New York; Malina Pearson and Rick Pearson, both
of Dallas; and great-grandchildren, Margaret Brannon and Lily Brannon, both of
East Aurora, New York.
He
is preceded in death by his parents, Vivian and Charles Calmia; and sister,
Anna Bea Davies.
A
gathering of Mr. Calmia’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with is
funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Broussard’s,
1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Haven of Rest
Cemetery, Beaumont.
