Jennifer
Thompson Stanfield, 62, of Beaumont, died Thursday, October 29, 2015. She faced
a lengthy journey with her diagnosis of cancer. She did this, as always, with
grace and courage. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on
June 10, 1953, to Rosie Sedivy Thompson and Derrill C. Thompson. Jennifer was a
1971 graduate of South Park High School and worked as a legal secretary for
Entergy for thirty-two years. She enjoyed Facebook and the company of her
family and many four legged fur children. Jennifer loved watching her
grandchildren play soccer and dance at iRule Dance Company. She was everyone’s
Mimi.
Survivors
include her husband, Larry Reeves Stanfield; daughter, Emily Swanson and her
husband, Chris, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Bailey Swanson, Scout Swanson,
McKinly Bunn, and Rowdie Swanson; sisters, Jan Thompson Corder of Cedar Park
and Melodie Thompson and her husband, Larry McEvoy, of Clear Lake; many nieces and
nephews; and a great-great-niece.
A
gathering of Mrs. Stanfield’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with
her memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at
Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation
was held through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s,
1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
