Lucille
Elizabeth Ray Foreman, 95, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Brookdale at
Memorial Oaks, in Houston. She was born in Beaumont on January 23, 1920, to
Laura Munsell Ray and James E. Ray. A graduate of Beaumont High School class of
1937, she was co-leader of the high-stepping Royal Guards performing at all
Royal Purple Football games. Lucille and her husband, Raymond were owners of
Foreman Plumbing. She was a founding member of North End Methodist Church, now
Wesley United Methodist Church, and was a member of Pilot Club. With cooking as her passion, she always had a
hot pot of coffee for friends who would stop by to taste her creations.
Lucille
is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Foreman; and daughter,
Elizabeth Grace. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Scardino (John) and Nell
Ray Smith (John Dailey); grandchildren: Stephen Smith (Jami), Stuart Smith,
Kellye Scardino Meller (Al), Stacey Scardino Thompson (James); and
great-grandchildren, Lauren Leigh Smith, Linsday Elizabeth Smith, Elizabeth
Louise Clement, Emma Corinne Clement, Taylor Emery Thompson, and Graham
Scardino Thompson.
A
gathering of Mrs. Foreman’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. with her
funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, at Wesley
United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will
follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605
North Major Drive, Beaumont.
A
special appreciation is acknowledged to Dr. George Thomas and staff, Denise and
Terry, for their years of exceptional care and the caregivers at Treemont and
Brookdale in Houston.
In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley United
Methodist Church Building Fund, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, TX 77713.
