Ricky Rene Venable, Sr.

Ricky Rene Venable, Sr., of Nederland, died Thursday, October 15, 2015. He was born on January 17, 1959, in Port Arthur, to Margie Tate and Rueben Venable. Ricky worked as an operator for the City of Beaumont.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Venable of Nederland; sons, Ricky Venable, Jr. and his fiancée Meghan Laird, of Sulphur, Louisiana and Brandon Venable of Port Neches; step-daughters, Shannon Drake and her husband, Chris, of Kountze and Kimberly Perez and her husband, Justin, of Austin; step-sons, Roger Ellerbee and his wife, Kati, of Bridge City and Edward L. Ellerbee, III; several step-granddaughters and step-grandsons, Javen, Addison, Sophia, Jordan, Dillan, Khloe, Kylie, Kirstie, and Easton; brother, Kirk Venable and his wife, Amy, of Pearland; sister, Starla Humble of Lumberton; mother, Margie Venable; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Rueben and Jay Venable.

A gathering of Mr. Venable’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2015, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland.  Cremation arrangements will be held under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
