Marion
Caffery Campbell, born July 14, 1932, in Beaumont, to Donelson Caffery and
Marion Taulbee, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Marion graduated
from Beaumont High School and attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans. At
Newcomb, she became a member of Pi Beta Pi Sorority and she met and married
George Lee Campbell, MD.
A
lifelong Episcopalian, Marion was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in
Beaumont.
Marion
loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding horses. She was an avid birder
and enjoyed traveling to exotic places.
Marion
is survived by her three children, Karen McCormick and her husband, Paul; Lee
Campbell; and Donelson Campbell; grandchildren, Charles Campbell, Marion
Campbell, Kate McCormick, Mary McCormick, Scott McCormick, Brennan Campbell,
and Cindy Campbell; and great-grandson, Bryson.
The family
would like to express our thanks for the dedicated care Marion received from
Dr. Jeremy Huff. We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Health Care
Professional for their compassionate and loving care at such a difficult time.
We are grateful for her caregivers, Linda Jones, Shelia Patterson, and Malinda Simien,
who treated her with patience, respect, and dignity.
A
gathering of Mrs. Campbell’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with
her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015, at St. Mark’s
Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont.
Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
In lieu
of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association,
700 North Street, Suite M, Beaumont, Texas 777701; St. Mark’s Food Pantry, 680
Calder Avenue, Beaumont 77702; or a charity of one’s choice.
